1st Challenge: Shoe Returns in eCommerce
Do you know the problem? Ordered a shoe online and the size doesn't fit? Your return is not an isolated case, because every second shoe ordered online is returned. 75% of them are returned because the shoes don't fit. This means that almost 40% of all shoes ordered online are returned because they are the wrong size. This is mainly due to the fact that there are no uniform shoe sizes worldwide, and the shoe inside measurements - which are relevant to whether a shoe fits - are completely different from country to country and manufacturer to manufacturer. All these returns cost online shops billions of euros, customers are annoyed and our environment suffers in particular, because each return results in 500g of CO2 emissions, packaging waste and the destruction of goods.
2nd solution: unique mySHOEFITTER technology
To solve this problem, we have developed a unique technology in cooperation with Fraunhofer FIT that allows customers of online shops to measure their feet with their smartphone and order shoes in the right size. By using our technology, online shops save considerable amounts of return costs and we enable customers with a perfect user experience and shoe shopping just like in a physical shop. But what we are particularly proud of is that we make eCommerce much more sustainable by avoiding unnecessary returns. Customers and retailers leave behind a green fingerprint.
